Two of our friends recently got scammed while trying to buy a cat. They were in a rush, looking to buy a cheap kitten immediately—either today or by tomorrow. That’s exactly when scammers strike. These crooks prey on people who are desperate, in a hurry, and looking for bargains. If you're in this category, you could easily get trapped.
The truth is, if a deal sounds too good and too fast, it probably is. The best way to avoid getting scammed is to contact the breeder directly. At minimum, speak to them on the phone or, even better, on a video call. This gives you a chance to judge how trustworthy they are and confirm the cat actually exists. Taking just a few minutes to verify these details can save you from a lot of heartache and financial loss.
