Taking your cat outside can be a great experience, but safety should always come first. Two major things you need to check are whether there are any dogs in the area and if there is traffic nearby. Both of these can be serious dangers to your cat. We strongly recommend using a leash every time you take your cat outside. However, if you are familiar with the location and know your cat’s behavior well, you may not need one. That said, if it's your cat's first, second, or even fifteenth time going out, we do not recommend removing the leash.
