Six ingredients make up the meat and organ base of The Cat's Standard. Together they cover close to 95 percent of the formula by weight. This is the part of the diet doing the heaviest biological lifting, and each cut is there for a specific reason, not just to add mass.
Chicken breast, the base
Chicken breast is the largest single ingredient, close to 39 percent of the formula. It is clean, skinless muscle meat, chosen as the primary protein because it is lean, highly digestible, and consistent from batch to batch. This is the workhorse of the formula, the amino acid foundation everything else builds on.
Chicken carcass, the bone
Chicken carcass makes up around 35 percent, ground whole with the bone still in it. This is the formula's calcium and phosphorus source, and the ratio between the two minerals matters as much as the amounts. Bone-in carcass delivers that ratio the way nature packages it, rather than as an isolated mineral powder trying to approximate it.
Gizzard and heart, working muscle
Chicken gizzard sits at 7.5 percent. It is a hard-working muscle, dense in texture and rich in zinc and B vitamins. Chicken heart follows at 5 percent. Despite the name, heart is muscle tissue, not an organ in the metabolic sense, and it happens to be one of the richest natural sources of taurine and CoQ10 available in poultry. A cat eating heart is eating something close to what it would select first in the wild, the organ meat highest in the nutrients its own heart depends on.
Beef trim and beef liver, the second protein
Beef enters the formula in two forms. Beef trim, lean muscle at 5 percent, broadens the amino acid profile beyond chicken alone. Beef liver, at 7 percent, is the formula's vitamin A and copper source. Liver is the one organ every raw feeding standard treats as non negotiable, because no muscle meat, chicken or beef, replaces what it provides.
Together these six ingredients are the reason The Cat's Standard reads as meat and bone first, supplements second. The proteins carry the bulk of the nutrition. Everything added afterward exists to close the small, specific gaps that muscle and organ meat alone cannot close.
The Cat's Standard is coming soon. Formulated to exceed AAFCO, FEDIAF and NRC. 15g protein per pack, under 2% carb calories. Human grade. No grains. No fillers. See the formula when it launches.
