Freeze-Dried Protein Topper for Cats

Most cat food does not come close to what a cat actually needs.

Cats are obligate carnivores. Their bodies run on animal protein. Not grain, not filler, not plant matter dressed up with artificial flavour. Kibble and standard wet food get cats through the day, but the protein content rarely matches what a cat needs to maintain lean muscle, a healthy coat, and consistent energy. The gap between adequate and optimal is real, and most cats live in it.

The Kelly & Co Dinner Booster closes that gap. It is a freeze-dried raw protein topper,  a concentrated powder made from 100% animal ingredients that you sprinkle over whatever your cat already eats. Dry food, wet food, raw food , it works with all of them. In one step, an ordinary meal becomes significantly more nutritious and far more appealing to even the most reluctant eaters.

This product is curated by Pau & Sun,  the animal biologist and world champion breeders behind Bangkok Cats. It is part of the nutritional programme we use with our own cats, and one of the products we recommend most consistently to cat owners who want to feed better without switching to a completely new diet.

Three flavours. Each with a specific nutritional purpose.

Wild-Caught Maguro Tuna (Japan) — 80% protein, 1% fat
The highest-protein option in the range. Wild-caught Japanese tuna, freeze-dried to preserve amino acid integrity. The ultra-lean profile makes this the right choice for overweight cats, neutered cats prone to weight gain, and any cat where protein needs to go up without calories following. One 10g sprinkle delivers around 8g of pure animal protein.

Toscana Valley — Chicken & Organs, 70% protein, 13% fat
Chicken with organ meat, including liver. Organ meat is one of the most nutrient-dense animal foods available and a natural source of vitamin A, B-complex vitamins, and micronutrients that are difficult to replicate artificially. This is the balanced option: high protein, meaningful fat, and the kind of nutritional breadth that comes closest to a whole-prey diet. Good for cats at any life stage, and particularly useful for fussy eaters who respond to richer aroma.

Atlantic Salmon (Norway) — 65% protein, 20% fat
Norwegian Atlantic salmon, selected for its omega-3 profile. The higher fat content carries EPA and DHA,  the long-chain fatty acids that support skin barrier function, coat quality, and have a well-documented anti-inflammatory effect. If your cat has a dull coat, dry skin, or inflammatory conditions, this is where to start.

How to use it

Sprinkle 1–2 teaspoons over your cat's regular food at mealtime. It can also be mixed with warm water for 1–2 minutes to make a gravy, used as a standalone treat, or given between meals as a protein snack. One 50g pouch provides 25–30 meals. Start with a small amount if your cat is new to freeze-dried food and increase gradually.

Questions & Answers

What is the Dinner Booster and how is it different from regular cat treats?

The Dinner Booster is a freeze-dried raw protein topper, not a treat. The distinction matters. Treats are typically low in protein and high in flavour additives — they are designed to be rewarding, not nutritious. The Dinner Booster is a concentrated source of animal protein that adds measurable nutritional value to your cat's regular meals. A 10g serving of the Maguro flavour delivers around 8g of pure protein. That is a meaningful contribution to your cat's daily intake, not a flavour garnish.

Which flavour should I choose for my cat?

If your cat is overweight, neutered, or on a calorie-restricted diet, start with Maguro Tuna. At 80% protein and 1% fat, it delivers the highest protein hit with the fewest calories — ideal for maintaining lean muscle without adding weight. If your cat is a fussy eater or has a dull coat, Toscana Valley is worth trying first — the organ meat content gives it a richer aroma that most cats find immediately appealing. Atlantic Salmon is the right choice if coat condition, dry skin, or inflammation is your primary concern, as the omega-3 content from Norwegian salmon is meaningfully higher than the other two variants.

My cat only eats dry food. Will this work?

Yes, and dry food is actually where the Dinner Booster makes the biggest visible difference. Kibble on its own has limited aroma and a relatively low protein density compared to fresh or raw food. Sprinkling the Dinner Booster over kibble immediately increases both the smell and the protein content of the meal. Most cats that are indifferent to their kibble show noticeably more interest once the topper is added. You can also mix it with a small amount of warm water to create a light gravy that coats the kibble, which some cats prefer.

Is this safe for kittens and senior cats?

Yes. The Dinner Booster is suitable for cats at all life stages. For kittens, the concentrated animal protein supports the rapid muscle and tissue development of the growth phase. For senior cats, it is one of the most practical ways to address the muscle loss that occurs naturally with age — a condition called sarcopenia — without dramatically changing their diet. The ingredients are clean, 100% animal-based, and free of the additives that can cause digestive sensitivity in older or younger cats.

How many meals does one pouch cover and is it good value?

One 50g pouch provides 25–30 meals at the standard 1–2 teaspoon serving size. For a single cat fed twice daily, that is roughly two weeks of daily use. The cost per meal is low relative to the protein it delivers — particularly when compared to fresh raw food, which requires much more handling and storage. As a topper added to an existing diet rather than a full meal replacement, it is one of the more cost-effective ways to raise the nutritional quality of what your cat eats every day.

Why does CatSlaves carry this product specifically?

We stock products we use ourselves. The Dinner Booster is part of the nutritional programme at Bangkok Cats, our world championship cattery. When you are feeding cats that need to perform and present at the highest level, the quality of their protein intake is not negotiable. We chose the Kelly & Co Dinner Booster because the ingredients are clean, the protein concentration is genuine, and the results in coat condition and muscle definition are visible over time. We do not carry products based on margin or marketing — we carry what works.
